Hun Manet Orders Army to Prepare for SEA Games and Elections

PHNOM PENH: The Commander-in-Chief of the Army, General Hun Manet, ordered all Army units to be ready to fulfil their core duties and to carry out orders from the Royal Government. He specifically mentioned providing emergency relief, security and public order during the SEA Games and the upcoming parliamentary elections.

Speaking at the appointment ceremony of senior officers and the meeting to review the results of the Army’s first and second quarter of 2023, General Hun Manet praised the achievements of the Army so far this year. He commended their accomplishments as a reflection of the officers’ and soldiers’ commitment to the motherland.

Looking towards the future, he asked all subordinate units to be ready to implement the Royal Government's regulations in 2023.

Cambodia will host the SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games in May and June, while the National Assembly election will be held on 27 July.
